Functional Description:
R3g is a mobile mess network supporting immediate response intelligence system personal exploitation devices (iped's) or hand-held devices wirelessly. R3g consists of fixed nodes, vehicle based nodes, a centcom forward server , and hand-held biometrics collection devices called secure electronic enrollment kits (seek ii). The seek device transmits its biometric profile data to the vehicle node via 3g cellular network provided by the vehicle's network ina box radio. The vehicle node uses another radio (qnt), providing backhaul communication, to send this data from the vehicle to a 'regional' fixed site. The fixed sites send and receive their information via nipr to (and from) the centcom forward server (cfs) which houses all all of these profiles. Watch lists are updated through the cfs via multiple sources. The information flow between the handheld and the cfs is two way.
